Sci-fi thriller “Elysium” lands on 4K Ultra HD – Feb. 9

Updated: Feb 13, 2021

SONY PICTURES Home Entertainment will release the sci-fi thriller “Elysium,” the follow-up to director Neill Blomkamp’s “District 9” on 4K Ultra HD (disc & digital) on February 9, 2021. The film’s production was over $115 million and its worldwide gross topped $286 million.

It’s the year 2154, two classes of people exist: the very wealthy, who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Delacourt (Jodie Foster) will stop at nothing to preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium—but that doesn’t stop the people of Earth from trying to get in by any means they can. Max (Matt Damon) agrees to take on a life-threatening mission, one that could bring equality to these polarized worlds.
