Oscar-winner “The Hurt Locker” finally arrives on physical 4K Ultra HD – Feb. 22

AFTER premiering on 4K digital in December 2019, Lionsgate Home Entertainment is finally releasing the physical 4K disc of “The Hurt Locker” on February 22, as an exclusive Best Buy Steelbook.


The action-packed war thriller won six Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Director – Kathryn Bigelow, and Best Original Screenplay – Mark Boal.


Staff Sgt. William James (Jeremy Renner), Sgt. J.T. Sanborn (Anthony Mackie) and Specialist Owen Eldridge (Brian Geraghty) are members of a bomb-disposal unit in Baghdad. As their tour of duty enters its final weeks, the men face a set of increasingly hazardous situations, any of which could end their lives in an explosive instant.

SPECS:

Video – Captured on Super 16mm (1.78:1 aspect ratio) and mastered in 2K, because the original film stock is half the wide of 35mm. HDR10 and Dolby Vision grading will be an added bonus compared to a 1080p disc.


Audio – Eight-channel Dolby Atmos will be provided for the Oscar-winning Sound Mix and Editing.
