HOT 4K NEWS
THIS SUMMER is going to be a great season to watch the films of German director Wolfgang Petersen on 4K Ultra HD. First, his highly acclaimed action thriller “In the Line of Fire” will be released by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment on June 15.
Plus, rumors are swirling his classic family adventure “The NeverEnding Story” (1984) will also get a 4K release from Warner Bros. sometime this summer.
Clint Eastwood stars as Frank Horrigan, a veteran Secret Service agent “In the Line of Fire,” haunted by his failure to protect John F. Kennedy from assassination. Thirty years later, he gets a chance to redeem himself when a brilliant psychopath threatens to kill the current president and take Horrigan with him. Taunting him by phone and tantalizing him with clues, the assassin (John Malkovich) lures Horrigan into an electrifying battle of wits and will that only one man can survive. Rene Russo co-stars as Horrigan’s risk-taking Field Chief, and surprising romance.
And a bonus, Sony it’s time to give Petersen’s World War II masterpiece “Das Boot” (1981) a 4K release - especially since it’s the 40th anniversary? It was one of your Superbit DVD releases back in the day.
Here’s our 4K review of Petersen’s “Air Force One” (1997) starring Harrison Ford.
