SCHEDULED for a theatrical release in July of 2020, Disney’s “Jungle Cruise” was shelved for 367 days because of the global pandemic. The action-adventure based on the popular theme-park ride finally hit American theaters on July 30 and has grossed $92 million domestically and $174 million worldwide. Its estimated production budget was $200 million with the huge number of FX shots.
Now, “Jungle Cruise” lands for home 4K Ultra HD (Digital) viewing on August 31 and physical 4K disc on November 16.
Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt star as skipper Frank Wolff and Dr. Lily Houghton, who embark on a swashbuckling thrill ride down the Amazon. Lily travels from London to the Amazon jungle and enlists Frank’s questionable services to guide her downriver on La Quila, his ramshackle-but-charming boat. She’s determined to uncover an ancient tree with unparalleled healing abilities – possessing the power to change the future of medicine.
Thrust on this epic quest together, the unlikely duo encounters innumerable dangers and supernatural forces, all lurking in the deceptive beauty of the lush rainforest.
