20th Anniversary Director’s Cut: “Requiem for a Dream” makes a 4K appearance - Oct. 13

Lionsgate Home Entertainment will release the 20th Anniversary Director's Cut of “Requiem for a Dream” on 4K (disc & digital) October 13. It was rumored for an earlier release this year, but COVID-19 seemed to put the brakes on that.


The story from writer/director Darren Aronofsky and author Hubert Selby Jr. is a hypnotic film about four people pursuing their visions of happiness. Even as everything begins to fall apart, they refuse to let go, plummeting with their dreams into a nightmarish, gut-wrenching freefall.


Based on the novel by Hubert Selby Jr., this gritty novel the drama concerns four people trapped by their addictions. Harry (Jared Leto), his best friend Tyrone (Marlon Wayans) are impoverished heroin addicts living in Coney Island, NY, and Harry's girlfriend Marion (Jennifer Connelly) also an addict. Harry's mother Sara (Ellen Burstyn), who spends her days watching television, and dreams of appearing on her favorite game show.
